We are excited to introduce the official Tribal College Basketball Network (TCBN) Power Ranking System, a comprehensive method for evaluating team performance throughout the season. The regional rankings not only tracks success on the court but also determines postseason opportunities, including rankings for regional tournaments and the crowning of regional champions.

How the System Works

The TCBN Power Ranking System awards points to teams based on their performances in various categories, including national rankings, regular season wins, and regional success. This point-based system ensures transparency and rewards teams for consistent excellence and competitiveness. Below is an overview of how teams earn points:

1. National Ranking Points

• Teams earn points based on their TCBN Top 15 ranking:
  • #1: 15 points
  • #2: 14 points
  • #3: 13 points
  • …continuing down to:
  • #15: 1 point
  • Unranked: 0 points

2. Regular Season Wins

• Win Against Top 5 Ranked Team: 10 points
• Win Against Top 10 Ranked Team (Ranks 6-10): 7 points
• Win Against Top 15 Ranked Team (Ranks 11-15): 5 points
• Win Against Unranked Team: 3 points

3. Regional Game Wins

• Win Against Any Team in Region: 5 points
• Additional Bonus for Beating a Ranked Team in Region:
  • Top 5 Team: +10 points
  • Top 10 Team: +7 points
  • Top 15 Team: +5 points
