Offensive Strengths:

Will Mesteth is the ultimate offensive weapon, redefining what it means to be an elite perimeter scorer. His shooting range is virtually limitless, capable of knocking down threes from well beyond the arc with effortless mechanics. Whether off the dribble, coming off screens, or spotting up, he has one of the quickest and most consistent releases in the game, making him a constant threat from deep.

Mesteth’s handle is elite, allowing him to navigate defenses with creativity and precision. His ability to create space—whether through hesitation moves, step-backs, or lightning-quick crossovers—makes him incredibly difficult to contain one-on-one. He thrives in pick-and-roll situations, where he can pull up for three, drive to the rim, or dish to an open teammate.

At the rim, he’s an underrated finisher, using high-level touch, floaters, and off-balance layups to score over bigger defenders. His ability to finish with either hand and absorb contact makes him a sneaky effective threat in the paint.

Playmaking & Basketball IQ:

Mesteth’s offensive impact goes beyond scoring—he’s also a high-level playmaker who sees the floor exceptionally well. His ability to manipulate defenses with his gravity allows him to find open teammates, whether it’s a kick-out to a shooter, a lob to a rolling big, or a quick dump-off in traffic. His passing is both creative and efficient, making him just as dangerous as a facilitator as he is a scorer.

His basketball IQ is elite, knowing when to attack, when to defer, and how to control the pace of the game. His movement off the ball is second to none, constantly relocating and finding open spots to get clean looks.

Defensive Strengths:

While not the biggest or longest guard, Mesteth makes up for it with effort, quickness, and anticipation. He plays the passing lanes well, leading to steals and transition opportunities. His foot speed allows him to stay in front of most guards, and he’s an underrated team defender who communicates well and understands rotations.

His biggest strength on defense is his ability to apply pressure without fouling, using his hands and agility to disrupt opposing ball handlers. He’s also a scrappy competitor who isn’t afraid to challenge bigger players when needed.
